Most home and building washers are too small for a queen or king comforter. When the drum is overstuffed, the detergent can’t reach the middle, the rinse doesn’t clear the soap, and the comforter comes out half clean. Drying is harder still: a thick comforter in a small dryer stays damp inside, which leads to clumped fill and a musty smell.
We wash bulky bedding in large-capacity machines with room to move, then dry it fully on low heat with dryer balls so the fill stays even.

Schedule a pickup online and choose Comforters & bedding as your service, or add bedding to a regular wash and fold order. Put each comforter in its own bag if you can, and leave it at your door or with your front desk. We check care labels, treat visible stains, wash on a gentle cycle in cool or warm water depending on the fill, and rinse thoroughly so no detergent stays trapped inside.
A comforter that looks dry on the outside can still be damp in the middle. We dry bulky bedding on low heat for as long as it takes, with dryer balls to break up the fill and help it loft. Down comforters get extra time and are checked by hand before folding. Nothing is returned damp.
Bulky items can take an extra day compared with a regular wash and fold order, because thorough drying takes time. We’ll tell you at pickup if your order needs it. Comforters come back folded and bagged, ready to go back on the bed or into the closet.
Duvet covers should be washed as often as your sheets. The comforter or insert underneath usually needs cleaning a few times a year, or after an illness, a spill or a pet’s visit. Many customers book comforter cleaning when the seasons change and they swap a heavy winter comforter for a lighter one.
Check the care label on each comforter. Most comforters and duvet inserts are machine-washable, including down and down alternative. If the label says dry clean only, put it in a separate bag and we’ll dry clean it, priced per item. Remove duvet covers from their inserts and send both; the cover is washed like regular bedding and the insert is washed on its own. Point out any stains in your notes so we can treat them before washing.
